Yikes! Colder down there, than up here in the mountains.
Brrrrr! I once lived in a valley north of Corning, NY. The cold air settled to the bottom and one morning it was 30 below. I remember my nose hairs freezing as I breathed. My VW bug started right up, though. I also recall smoke from chimneys going straight up, then bending to the side when it hit the temperature inversion above the valley.
Sorry, your temp at the Falls is MUCH too cold for me! It's been down to 32 here and that's bad enough.
Our Zoo son had 20 below in Minneapolis - coldest in his 8 years there.
